TCE 090 HVAC Diagnostics 3 sem. hrs.
This comprehensive course introduces HVAC technicians to cutting-edge technologies and practices in the field. The course is divided into three parts: (1) IoT Fundamentals, covering smart probes and the measureQuick App for accurate diagnostics; (2) Applied IoT Solutions, focusing on airflow optimization using the Digital TrueFlow Air Handler Flow Meter; and (3) Integrated IoT Solutions, addressing the transition to A2L refrigerants. Students will gain hands-on experience with IoT tools for system diagnostics, airflow testing, and safe handling of low-GWP refrigerants. The course prepares technicians to leverage digital technologies for precise HVAC system analysis, optimization, and environmentally friendly practices. Weekly sessions include practical skill-building activities in a state-of-the-art learning lab.
TCE 100 Intro to Information Technolog 3 sem. hrs.
Provides students with an overview of key pathways in frontier technologies: artificial intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity, and programming. Covers fundamental concepts, applications, and interconnections between these rapidly evolving fields. Students explore potential career paths, align interests with relevant skill sets, and gain insights into future certificate and degree programs. Course includes lectures, hands-on activities, and real-world case studies to help students make informed decisions about their future studies in technology. Weekly sessions enhance learning through practical skill-building activities.
TCE 101 FAA Drone Technology 3 sem. hrs.
Provides foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in drone operations, preparing students for safe and effective drone use and basic certification. Covers drone mechanics, FAA regulations, safety, and applications. Instruction includes drone anatomy, aerodynamics, flight controls, mission planning, and data collection. Emphasis is placed on developing essential drone camera skills for capturing professional-quality video. Students develop practical flying and camera operation skills through exercises and simulations. The course includes a final project demonstrating comprehensive drone operation and videography proficiency. Weekly sessions enhance learning through practical skill-building activities and coding basics.
TCE 103 Managing Projects w/Micro 365 3 sem. hrs.
This course is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively manage projects using Microsoft 365 tools. Participants will learn how to leverage Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive to streamline project management processes, facilitate collaboration, and improve communication among team members. Through a series of interactive sessions, participants will gain practical experience with Microsoft 365 project management tools and learn best practices for using them to manage projects more efficiently. They will also learn how to effectively plan, organize, and monitor projects from start to finish, and how to create and manage project tasks and schedules using Microsoft Planner.
TCE 104 Intro MicroExcel'19/Office 365 3 sem. hrs.
Introduction to Microsoft Excel is a comprehensive introductory course designed to equip learners with fundamental skills in Microsoft Excel. This hands-on course covers essential functionalities, including data entry, formatting, basic formulas, and simple functions. Through practical exercises and real-world examples, students will gain confidence in navigating Excel's interface and harnessing its powerful features to analyze data and streamline workflows.
TCE 105 IntermediateMicro19/Office365 3 sem. hrs.
This course will start with a brief review of basic concepts learned in Level 1 and build on those skills learned. Unless otherwise requested, the primary focus of this course will be focused on Excel. Other elements of the Office 365 suite can be integrated upon request. Please contact Dr. Passerini to discuss the addition of other course elements of the Office 365 Suite.
TCE 106 Adv Micro 2019/Office 365 3 sem. hrs.
This course will start with a brief review of skills learned in Levels 1 and 2. The course is focused on the application of Excel skills within the work responsibilities of the participant to enhance or optimize workplace operations. Instructors will work with participants to design practice sets and instructional materials that utilize macros, formulas, pivot tables and other advanced features within the context of the participants day-to-day job responsibilities. Participants will become comfortable using advanced applications to collect, arrange, and clean data to create tables, charts and reports that create new efficiencies and insight within the business.
