More than ever before, companies need employees who canuse AI tools to solve problems creatively and responsibly. This non-technical AI crash course builds the foundational skills needed to do that and is designed to be valuable to anyone. Learn how todistinguish problems that AI is useful for, master prompt engineering to improve outputs, detectAI-generated output, analyze ethics and privacy, and stay up-to-date on one of the most transformative technologies of our lifetimes.
AIL 125 Science Innova Through AI Tech 1 sem. hr.
This course will provide an innovative experience for science majors that emphasizes technology and science through a common intellectual experience. Topics include Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for idea generation, prompt engineering, collaborative projects, and AI ethics. Students will gain new strategies in undergraduate research as well as group projects, particularly focusing on the use of technology in science. This academic experience supports career readiness including communication skills and research strategies. Offered every fall.

This course provides innovative experiences for all majors that emphasize the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to research methods through a common intellectual experience. Topics include AI foundations, AI-powered data analysis and visualization, interdisciplinary collaboration and problem-solving, AI automation in literature reviews and knowledge synthesis, AI-driven grant writing and research funding strategies, AI ethics, and responsible research practices. Students will utilize and apply AI technology in innovative ways to gain new knowledge and skills, including its multitude of benefits for multidisciplinary scholarly discoveries. Artificial Intelligence decisions are often only as good as the person asking the question. In this course, you’ll learn how to ask the right ones and increase the productivity and innovation you can achieve with AI. Create better prompts, compare and contrast strengths and limitations, evaluate outcomes, and by the end of this course, understand and leverage the power of AI for decision-making across any discipline, opening up new career paths and personal growth. Therefore, learning the ethical theories and legal frameworks surrounding AI is critical for anyone using AI tools. This course will explore the ethical standards and legal requirements in AI deployment, covering topics such as bias, privacy, and governance. Prerequisite: AIL 101
